SUBJECT: CITO Policy Addition – IT Investment

Attached is the draft text and brief background presented at the December Board of Regents meeting for proposed policy for IT Investment.  I believe the background provides the context for this new policy.  The policy draft itself is a brief two sentence addition that would be added to the existing Chief Information Technology Officer policy.

The draft language has been reviewed by the Information Technology Council and the Business Council.  Input from you and those you represent is critical in this process.  Please send me comments from your council or governance group by January 31 for consideration.  I will be happy to speak to you individually or collectively concerning this proposed policy.

The intent is to have a final reading and action on this proposed policy by the regents at their February, 2005 meeting in Juneau.
